A day in the life...

If anything could ever convince people to become vegetarian, it is surely this - warning, it may offend and is quite large too (25MB). Food for thought indeed.
See that the Airbus A380 had a successful maiden voyage - congratulations indeed, it's about time we proved ourselves to those from the US who think Europe is some kind of joke.
Howard took the headlines in the Election campaign today, for all the wrong reasons. Reducing the arguments down to gutter level when it's totally not necessary may have swung my vote the Red way!

A few things to say tonight. Firstly, I got an invite for GMail from Google - awesome. Google have also released local - which produces such wicked maps as this (where I live).
What else. Ah yes - managed to get a listen to this...

...again - awesome. Some of the best music I have heard in a while. That's all for now - laters.

Well, my photo has been published on the BBC website (second photo). That's the second photo in the space of a few weeks that has been published by top wesbite (the first being my photo of Arthur on the Metro website), got to be happy with that! :o)

Third and final party manifesto (well, worth looking at) out today. Lib Dem. You can find that here . Not something I would vote for to be honest. Tax is a constant issue and although this wouldn't affect me I think it unfair. What they are proposing is that anyone who earns over 100k gets taxed at 50%. Why is that successful people get punished. I earn a good wage but most of it is in the top tax bracket. That's my reward for doing well at Uni and working my butt off is it? Looked at the Green party manifesto too. While the intention is good the reality is that the country would fall apart if that were put in place. Why can none of the others offer a good compromise? I must say that the country does seem to be getting better at recycling etc.

Now the labour manifesto is out. You can find that here . Seems to be a question of who do you believe. Labour are saying in here they will not raise tax in the next parliament, there is no mention of National Insurance though, which is basically another form of tax. It does seem as though both parties are looking at points schemes to allow in migrants, which has to be a good thing. Longer licensing hours (not that bothered but I think in the long term it will help the bing drinking culkture we seem to have here), ID cards all seem like a good idea...

So the conservative manifesto is out. You can take a look here . For me it actually looks quite good. I am still not convinced that the tories are able to run the country but if they could keep to their promises I would be quite happy. Lower taxes, more police, better education, action on Yob culture, stricter immigration laws (this particularly, is about time - I am no racist but we seem to allow anyone into this country and let them soak up benefits, jobs etc. while we have people living on our streets). For me personally it may make no difference at all. I live in the constituency of Poplar and Canning Town and if you take a look at that link you will see that in 2001 Labour won with a majority of over 40% and an actual share of 60% of the votes. So any chance they will not be labour again? I doubt it. The problem with where I live (Isle of Dogs) is that although Canary Wharf and everything next to the water is lovely appartments and all new and shiney, the rest of it is council and 'chavs'. :o)

Has it really been more than a week since I updated this? Time does indeed fly. What has been going on? Last week was a very hectic time at work, possibly the most hectic since I came back to the UK. Thinking about it that is probably why the week went so quickly. Friday I went to Leeds for Hedgehog's 30th. We had a few beers and then went back to his where I DJed until around 4am. Went to bed, woke up, got on a coach and came home. Watched Man Utd get dicked by Norwich (something wrong there), and then chilled. Spent yesterday shopping, cleaning and that's about all. This weekend is the London Marathon which comes past my house so I may just get a bottle of wine and watch from my balcony...

Mum and stepdad indeed came down yesterday. It seems every time they come the sun comes out so keep coming you two!! Had a lovely day, nothing hectic. Lunch at Canary Wharf, chat at mine and then a walk down Oxford Street.
Went to Carolyn's today and she helped me clean the car. I don't think she quite knew what to expect though. With me, washing a car is not just a case of sponging it down. Wash, cleanse, buff, wax, buff, detail, interior. A good 2 or 3 hour job. I took her out for lunch and to the cinema as a reward. We went to see Ring 2. Not as bad as I thought it would be and still damn scary!!
Found this article which made me chuckle. I know for a fact it is true. Ask any of my monkeys and they will tell you when they are happy and no mistake.
Lastly, the Pope died. I wasn't a huge fan of this Pope to be honest. I know his did his bit for the Solidarity movement which eventually led to the downfall of Communism in Russia, it was more his views on things like contraception to be honest. In this day and age you cannot be telling a country like Mexico not to use contraception, which he did and after which HIV rates shot up. The whole Vatican is a very antiquated system in my opinion. However, as Chris pointed out yesterday we like in a democracy so I am free to voice my opinion. :o)

Take a look at this . It amused me a little. Think about it.
Usual kind of week. Work and sleep has been the order of the day. I bought a juicer yesterday. It's grand. Of course I went and juiced almost everything I could find. Don't worry - the animals are still un-juiced. :o) Never realised that fresh carrot juice could be so good.
Mum coming to London again tomorrow - it's also the old man's 60th - I won't give him too much hassle for that. Bwoaahhh!!!
OK Folks - that's all for now. Have a good weekend.
