While having a conversation in car on the way back from the airport with my good friend and colleague Phil, we were discussing Holmes and Rahe's Social Readjustment Scale, Phil mentioned the The Bristol Stool Form Scale. Not quite the same but made me chuckle. I guess both are useful.
On the same lines this reminded me of Maslow's hierarchy of Needs. I learned about this and the Holmes and Rahe Scale whilst in College studying to go to University. I thoroughly enjoyed psychology but thought there must be more money in computing. Although I feel I have made a success of myself in computing (The Internet Industry to be more exact - running a 24/7 global NOC to be even more exact) I sometimes wonder what would have happened had I taken the other route. Maybe one day I will go there...
